Holiday Seaside

Robin White of RW design created this holiday home to work with the local landscape. The Waiau Stone has a beautiful golden glow and was used extensively to give warmth and ambience to the exterior and the interior.

The kitchen has a textured finished granite slab, and the island reflects the same angle as the front of the home. Endless amounts of glass give views right out to the peninsula. The family have a love of fishing, diving and boating. The kitchen splashback is a photo of a family member breaking the surface of the water while diving. Casabella used birch ply to the ceilings and also used ply end grain with a black negative detail to create a batch feel in the kitchen joinery. The kitchen has servo drive cabinetry, so it handless to show off this feature.

A rust feature wall in the Entrance gives a ship type feel. We worked very closely with the owners to create a rustic marine seaside feel but with all the modern technology such as smart systems to operate blinds, heating, etc. This really is a home away from home, and the owners live there regularly.
